So first day of orientation at massart, there's this girl in my group thats super social and fun and it turns out neither of us signed up for the orientation boat cruise so we hit it off and decide to go out for sushi that night instead. Long story short, we realized we were both reading Anthony Bourdain's "Kitchen Confidential" and now she's my best friend. Seriously its creepy how alike we are, and its not fluffy college omgyayifoundafriend, it's genuinely a beautiful relationship. I feel like I've known her for ever and Im only in my third week of school. So we were having a lifetalk one day ( we have them like every day) and Im all about keeping it classy, if you follow me on pinterest you know that. there are a lot of opportunities in college to lose your class, but no matter what I feel very strongly about maintaining it. Granted I still like to have a good time, but I'm responsible and always keep a level head. so I drew this for her as we both agree on this concept and god it felt good to finish a piece. I haven't done anything legit since that gouache portrait at the end of senior year. So guess who's back ladies and gentlemen. I've been drawing 2-3 hours a day just like the good ol' days. I guess I just needed some time to find myself, and now I'm settling in to more of a style so this summer wasn't a complete bust. So this is just a shoutout to all yalls to remind you to keep it real and ask yourself "what would Meryll Streep do?"
Perhaps she is more honest with herself.
